Outpost of the neo-Italian army. The Blockhaus (rock house)
was the term used to name the military forts built in the southern provinces of Italy to counter the actions of post-unification brigandage.
Built between 1865 and 1864, it was used until 1866 by a group of 18 soldiers with horses following them.
