The Girlan Winery, founded as a cooperative in 1923, is now run by two hundred winegrowing families and cultivates 230 hectares of vineyards. Its focus is on five flagship varieties that thrive in the particularly favorable growing areas of the Überetsch and Unterland valleys. The mild climate, characterized by large temperature differences between day and night, promotes the development of delicate aromas and a long shelf life for the wines. The barren, clayey soils and well-ventilated vineyards also contribute to the quality.
