In the 1920s large-scale sports and public park. 1926-1928 the Municipal Stadium was built for 50,000 spectators. From 1933 to 1938 the National Socialists used the stadium for their purposes. After 1945, the Municipal Stadium was rebuilt several times, most recently for the 2006 World Cup.
