Blücher-Gymnasium has had astronomy clubs since 1962; former students built the observatory in the tower's dome. Downstairs, in the planetarium, events usually take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays. No box office sales! Information at koelner-planetarium.de/veranstaltungen_amp.html

The high school on Blücherstraße in Cologne-Nippes was built in 1907 and has housed Cologne's only planetarium since 1966.
The observatory - consisting of two domes and several instruments - was founded there in 1960.
A very large part of the facility - including the telescopes and domes - was built by former students in their spare time.
The planetarium is located in the basement of the building and can accommodate up to 30 people
