The Art Gallery of Ontario was founded in 1900 (1903) (officially). The collection includes over 120,000 art objects with a focus on Canadian artists.

Admission is free every first Wednesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The museum building has been continuously expanded and redesigned over the decades. The current front building was built by Frank Gehry from 2004 to 2008.
