This extraordinary fortified church is one of the unofficial icons of the Wine Route. Massive and impressively designed, it seems to have been the refuge of the village of Hunawihr. On the Kirchfried there are still old graves of whole families up to the present generations.
The view from the terrace, where the town's war memorial is located, has postcard quality: you can study the three castles over Ribeauvillé and enjoy the Vosges slopes. The Rheineben is also spread out in front of you.
