As Äppeläquator the language border between Rheinfränkisch (Untermainland) and Mainfränkisch (Lower Franconian) is called.
The Äppeläquator runs in the Spessart along a line from Wertheim to Schollbrunn. It is the language boundary from the mainfränkischen to the rheinfränkischen dialect, one of the most well-known language borders of Germany. On the road from the service area Rohrbrunn to Schollbrunn stands since May 2004 a memorial stone, on which a short poem in both dialects of this border reports as follows:
