History and characteristics:
Origins: Initially it was a small votive shrine, blessed in 1605 and dedicated to the Visitation of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth.
Expansion: The inhabitants of Leffe asked several times to transform the shrine into a real church, but the request was granted only in 1715, with the addition of a nave and a presbytery area.
