The neo-gothic building, which was built between 1864 and 1865, was designed according to the plans of Baurat Adalbert Hotzen, who also restored the Bücker Stiftskirche from 1861-1868. The building was once a recognized middle school. The former elementary school building behind it was built in its current form in 1928.
