The Salt House, with its arched gateway to the Old Town Hall, was built in 1592 as a three-story half-timbered building with a sandstone ground floor.
Part of the town hall's warehouse, it was used as a salt store from 1605 onward.

Used as a school and residential building from 1845 to 1955, it now houses the Sindelfingen City Museum.
