The Möhrer Moor is located on the Uhlenstieg on the edge of the Osterheide. This moorland is somewhere between the extreme of the nutrient-poor raised bogs, which are only fed by rainwater (rain bogs) and are populated by specialists, and the nutrient- and species-rich fens, which often have a connection to groundwater. The Möhrer Moor is a transitional moor in which plants from raised and fens grow.
