The client was the non-profit GmbH for the creation of housing opportunities for members of the Reich.
After the Second World War, the settlement, which lies above the south bank of the Schlachtensee, developed into a popular residential area.
The most prominent resident was the governing mayor and later Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt in the house at Marinesteig No. 14.
