The church was built in the late 1940s by recruited unemployed workers and completed in 1947. The building materials were brought from the Leuten quarry. The church was consecrated on August 19, 1951.

When you enter a Catholic church, you expect to see a lot of gold, not this modern church. Even for me, a tolerant person, it took some getting used to. I'm overwhelmed by the idea of describing it. It's just a shame that the Vatican still lives in the Middle Ages.
