The parish in Jesionka was established on 25 March 1985 by the Archbishop Metropolitan of Gniezno-Warsaw Józef Cardinal Glemp, Primate of Poland. It is a young parish community. Its beginnings date back to the 1960s and 1970s, when religious education classes for children and Holy Masses were held in the private homes of residents. The next step was the purchase of a wooden, rural house, its reconstruction and dedication to the faithful in 1978 as a chapel of Christ the Good Shepherd.
