The parish church of St. Ottilia in Lengstein am Ritten was first mentioned in 1177. Its present form was largely created in the Gothic style, with the tower and presbytery dating from the 15th century. In the Middle Ages, the church was an important pilgrimage church. According to legend, Saint Ottilia was born blind and miraculously regained her sight at her baptism. Therefore, she is considered the patron saint of eyes and sight. Today, the historic church and the adjacent cemetery shape the village's appearance in Lengstein.
