As a little detour from the trip around Varpan you can head north out to Gassarvet. This is a master minere estate surrounded by a well-preserved cultural landscape. Where forest grows thick today here a remains of abandoned arable fields, pastures, and house foundations. These are traces of small farms that one lay here.
