According to a legend, they were made from three loaves of bread from a heartless woman who refused to help a starving miner. With the words “My three loaves should be turned into stones” she ignored the miner and then the loaves grew into huge stones and pushed the woman into the mossy ground. The granite blocks are supposed to be a warning against heartlessness.
