Nordic walking

The local hut was therefore built in 1882 and is known to the locals as "Podderlahüttn". Until 1958 glass beads were wound out of the crucible around a bead iron in three layers in the building, which is still standing today. "A bead wrapper made of round 18000 glass beads" can be read on the blackboard. In order to obtain different colored beads, while the glass mass was mixed with various metal oxides. For example, the addition of cobalt oxide resulted in blue.

Christian Herrmann In 1882, Christian Herrmann from Warmensteinach in the district of Birnstengel built a glass bead hut - a so-called "Podderlahüttn". The vernacular name "Podderla" for pearl derives from "PaternosterPerle" and means rosary bead. Because pearls used to be made into beads for rosaries.
