Hiking

Here you walk along the former route of the tram line that connected the coal mines of Genk with the industrial area of Liège. Construction began in 1908. A rampart was built right through the Kattenberg here over a distance of 700m to bridge the difference in altitude between the station and the hamlet of Leten. The steam tram was put into use in 1910. It was permanently taken out of service in 1948.
