In addition to grinding grain into flour, a Pelton turbine produced electricity for electric lighting for the farmhouse on the farm “La Venta,” where the mill is located, and for the workers’ homes.

The mill's name comes from the fact that it was built by a Frenchman who came to the area at the end of the 19th century. His target was the abundant cork that existed in the area and was rarely exploited.
