Basically, this platform was well thought out and was intended to provide a view of the Gehrensee. However, due to changing rainfall levels and increasing development in adjacent areas, the Gehrensee regularly dries out. However, as it is important for the amphibians found here, such as the fire-bellied toad, smooth newt, great crested newt and various toad species, the lake is fed with additional water. However, the vegetation has now grown so densely that it is unfortunately impossible to see the lake.
