Tokul Creek Trestle – Snoqualmie Valley Trail loop from Carnation

    200m

The Tokul Creek Trestle – Snoqualmie Valley Trail loop from Carnation offers a diverse touring cycling experience, transitioning from open agricultural valleys with views of the Snoqualmie and Tolt Rivers to dense, mossy forests. The highlight is undoubtedly the impressive Tokul Creek Trestle, a century-old wooden structure spanning 400 feet across a gorge, providing panoramic vistas that are perfect for a photo stop.

This moderate 19.4-mile (31.2 km) route involves 669 feet (204 metres) of elevation gain, typically taking around 2 hours to complete. While much of the Snoqualmie Valley Trail is flat crushed gravel, be prepared for a moderate 400-foot climb south of Carnation and a short single-track section near the Tokul Tunnel that might require carrying your bike. Wider tires (28mm+) are recommended for comfort on the varied surfaces.

This loop is a significant segment of the developing Great American Rail-Trail, following the historic path of a former railroad line. Beyond the Trestle, you'll find yourself immersed in the natural beauty and agricultural heritage of the Snoqualmie Valley, with opportunities to spot wildflowers or even salmon depending on the time of year.
