Embark on the Parrish Creek Trail for a difficult jogging adventure, stretching 9.8 miles (15.8 km) through varied terrain. You will encounter narrow single track and numerous switchbacks as you ascend a substantial 3552 feet (1083 metres). The route follows a scenic creek, eventually leading you to a small waterfall, and offers expansive panoramic views of the Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island. Allow yourself approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete this challenging journey.
When planning your visit, be mindful of seasonal conditions; the trail can become muddy in spring and may be covered in snow during winter months. During warmer periods, be aware that rattlesnakes can be present on the trail. While a shorter, family-friendly segment exists to a pictograph panel, extending further significantly increases the route's difficulty. This trail is best suited for experienced trail runners.
Beyond the physical challenge, the Parrish Creek Trail offers a unique blend of natural beauty and historical intrigue. As you jog, you will pass ancient pictographs, adding a fascinating cultural dimension to your run. The trail's winding path through the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest provides a rewarding experience for those seeking both strenuous exercise and scenic exploration.
