🏠🧂 The historic salt-boiling house is the impressive centerpiece of the Gottesgabe saltworks ensemble in the Bentlager Wald. The mighty 18th-century brick building houses the old boiling hall and conveys, when passing by or during a short stop, an incredibly dense atmosphere of historical industrial and craft culture in the middle Emsland.

Central heart of historical salt production: For centuries, brine was heated here in huge evaporating pans to extract Bentlage's precious "white gold". The building with its mighty walls tells of the labor-intensive history of the spa operations and salt production. 📜🔥
