Mo'omomi Preserve is a significant and unchanged coastal ecosystem in Hawaii. The linear dunes are shaped by the northeast trade winds, and although they may appear barren, they are home to a wide range of native species. Mo'omomi is an important nesting site for green sea turtles and has a rich bird history. Visitors can observe the Hawaiian owl, native shorebirds, and seabirds along the shoreline.
