Embark on an easy hike along the Jones Springs loop, a 3.8-mile (6.1 km) route that takes about 1 hour and 33 minutes to complete. You will experience a gentle climb of 69 feet (21 metres) as you wander through peaceful pine groves and birch trees. The trail offers varied scenery, winding past several lakes, including the notable Fanny Lake. You will also traverse wetland areas like the Jones Spring Impoundment, providing a diverse natural setting for your outdoor adventure.

Before you head out, be aware that the Jones Springs loop can get very muddy, especially in its wetland sections. This is particularly true after rain or during certain seasons. To avoid the worst conditions, it is often best to hike in early spring before the ground thaws or in late fall after a freeze. Some parts of the trail may also become overgrown during the summer months.

Located within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, this loop offers a chance to observe local wildlife. Keep an eye out for wood duck boxes placed along the trails, which provide homes for birds. Sandhill cranes are also sometimes seen in the wetland areas, adding to the natural appeal of your journey.
