    Nānāwale Forest Reserve is totally in the district of Puna and was first designated in December of 1928. The Governor's Proclamation made it official, and today the Nānāwale Forest Reserve is currently about 2,556 acres. It is segregated into three sections, and hunting with the proper permits and at certain times during each year is allowed here.
