The pulley is a relic of potash mining in Sehnde and is intended to commemorate it. Salt production was stopped in 1981 and the Friedrichshall potash plant was largely dismantled. When the winding tower was dismantled, the disk with a diameter of six meters was obtained.

Since the imperial era (founded in 1896), the Friedrichshall mine in Sehnde was used to mine potash salts. Mining operations ceased in 1981. The huge rope pulley with a diameter of 6 m is a reminder of the winding tower.
