The Coniston Coppermines Waterwheel is a restored, fully functioning waterwheel in Coppermines Valley. Against the impressive backdrop of The Old Man of Coniston, it forms a central element of the area's 500-year-old copper mining history.

This huge waterwheel, measuring 32 feet (nearly 10 metres) in diameter, was reinstalled at its original home at a former Victorian sawmill in Coniston’s Coppermines valley in 2019. Integral to the mill’s operation from 1850, it was removed when the mine ceased operations in around 1890.
