Danischmend Ghazi was the founder of the Danischmend dynasty. After the advance of the Turks, who defeated the Byzantines at the Battle of Manzikert, the Danischmenden controlled the northern and central parts of Anatolia. After the conquest, Niksar became the capital of the Danishmend dynasty.
