The current location of the Assumption Church was originally the Chapel of St. Martin. Since the rule in the village Stetten was originally Protestant, mainly Protestant services were held.

Hiking

The patronage "Maria (or Assumption)" of this church refers to one of the many commemorative days or feast days in honor of Mary, the Mother of God. It goes back to the feast of their physical acceptance into heaven, which the Church celebrates annually on August 15th.
In many rural areas it is common for the people to collect herbal bundles (called "Kruggweusch" in the Rhenish dialect) on this day and bless them in the festival service.
