Just to the north of the New River Gorge Bridge on Fayette Station Road (one-way), a climbing area access trail splits off and turns back uphill. Nothing prevents hikers from checking out the impressive buttresses and climbing, though hikers should defer to climbers on maintaining safe distances from climbers and belayers.
