This station has been a stop on the Swedish domestic railway since 1918. The almost 1,300 km long railway line runs from Kristinehamn in the south via Mora and Östersund to Gällivare in Lapland. During the summer months, the diesel railcars run daily in both directions with stops at many railway stations and other stopping points such as the Vilhelmina railway station.
