The stable quarry was opened for quarrying in January 1907 and the road there was built the same year. in April 1907, a steam crane was also installed in the quarry and the railway to the Stallebrott from Grönvik was built in 1911. When the demand for stone decreased due to the world economy, the business was shut down in 1932, but resumed to some extent in 1952 when times were better.
Today, Stallebrottet is an outdoor scene in a unique environment.
