Here - along the Molenbeek and in full nature - the city is never far away. Every now and then the "villas of Ganshoren" in bright colors rise above the tall trees. this contrast between city and nature was beautifully expressed in the poem "Wetlands and Memory" by the Belgian-Portuguese poet Paolo Texeira. You will find the poem at the bridge - an artwork by Filip Vanthingen. Image and word here provide an artistic evocation of the tension between nature and culture.
