Hiking
The Velebit Channel, in Croatian Velebitski kanal, is a narrow strait that stretches for about 121 kilometers along the coast. On average, it measures only three to four kilometers in width, but reaches depths of up to 106 meters. Its historical Italian name, Canale della Morlacca, is reminiscent of the Morlachs, a population group that once inhabited this rugged borderland between the sea and the mountains.
