From the Schwedenschanze, an old rampart from the 16th / 17th century, you have a wonderful view of the Schwerin outer lake. The ramparts were built to secure the trade route from Wismar to Hohen Viechel

Hiking

A bastion built in 1638 from earthen walls. It originally served to protect the trade route from Wismar to Schwerin. Things are more peaceful here today: In addition to a great view over Schwerin's outer lake, there are also some benches that invite you to take a break.
