Hike the Causeway Coast Way from Bushmills to the Giant's Causeway, a moderate route spanning 5.4 miles (8.7 km) with an elevation gain of 214 feet (65 metres). This journey takes about 2 hours and 16 minutes, leading you through a diverse landscape. You will pass golden beaches and dramatic cliffs, eventually reaching Runkerry Head for stunning views of the iconic Giant's Causeway and its unique basalt columns.
When planning your visit, remember that the paths are generally accessible. However, the Atlantic coast weather can shift quickly, so always come prepared. Make sure you wear sturdy footwear and bring clothing suitable for changing conditions to ensure a comfortable hike.
This section of the Causeway Coast Way offers a unique perspective on Northern Ireland's famous coastline. You will follow parts of the old Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Railway track, winding through sand dunes before climbing to the cliff tops. The trail provides an excellent opportunity to witness the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Giant's Causeway up close.
