The rustic Swiss village of Urnäsch is located on the river of the same name in Appenzell Ausserrhoden, directly at the foot of the steep Säntis, embedded in the green pastures of the hilly landscape. In the Appenzell hinterland, old customs are still lived and celebrated with pride today. The lively town has a lively economic life, but has retained its rural character and focused on gentle, family-friendly tourism early on. Its famous, picturesque village square invites you to linger, and many hiking trails, restaurants and attractions make time fly by.
