The memorial stone near Koserow commemorates the devastating storm surges of 1872 and 1874. These natural disasters had serious effects on the region and claimed many lives. The memorial stone serves as a memorial for the victims of these tragic events and reminds us how unpredictable and destructive the forces of nature can be. It stands as a symbol of solidarity and respect for the history of this community, reminding people of the importance of protecting the coastal areas from possible dangers.
