Hiking

The 374-meter-long steel truss bridge takes you from the Krems district of Stein across the Danube to Mautern. According to records, the crossing over the Danube was in use as early as 100 AD. A wooden bridge was built at this location in the 15th century, which was replaced by a steel structure in 1895.

A view from the bridge towards Krems an der Donau is always worthwhile, so take your time while crossing.

Cycling

The 374-meter-long steel truss bridge over the Danube connects the towns of Krems and Mautern and was opened in 1895. Towards the end of World War II, it was partially blown up by the Wehrmacht. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1945.
