This 2.8-mile (4.5 km) route features steady uphill climbs, gaining 775 feet (236 metres) in elevation over about 1 hour and 40 minutes. You will follow a singletrack trail, mostly exposed to the sun, which provides impressive mountain vistas as you reach areas like "the Gulch". The trail culminates in panoramic views of the Salt Lake Valley and city skyline from the Avenues Twin Peaks, making it a rewarding experience.
When planning your visit, note that the trail is easily accessible and generally snow-free from April to November. However, summer midday ascents can be challenging due to the heat and sun exposure, so consider an early morning or late afternoon start. This route is dog-friendly, but remember to keep your pets on a leash to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone. You can expect a good workout within a relatively short distance from Salt Lake City.
