Hiking

From the heathland above Volksfeld, the path leads steeply down small steps and serpentines into the valley. Sure-footedness and good shoes are required on this section of the otherwise easy route.

Hiking

After a short climb along a narrow path, you'll reach the Riethel Cross, erected above the village of Volkesfeld. A magnificent panoramic view awaits you. Behind you, Volkesfeld nestles against the hillside, and in front of you stretch the ridges of the Volcanic Eifel region. In the valley below lies the Rieden forest lake with a small holiday home complex. From the wooden lounger, you have a fantastic view of the Nette Valley. There's also a picnic bench.
