Whether you've just exited from the Chantry Woods or traversed the North Downs Way from St Marthas Hill this small plateau is well worth pausing on your run as it gives you the opportunity to look southwards towards the South Downs and Chinthurst Hill. From here the landscape falls away dramatically leaving you with wide open views that are mesmerising. There are also benches to sit and be mesmerised on too.

A stunning view here, with a bench from which to appreciate it. You can see all the way to the South Downs National Park. If you come from the south its a steep climb up, but worth it. East from here to Newlands Corner and west towards Guildford would make a great ridge run if you would rather keep things flatter (but not flat!).
