Many Scottish hills and mountains have romantic and dramatic sounding Gaelic and Norse names. Not so, Mid Hill.

However, it is a lovely little viewpoint for the Arrochar Alps and the island-studden southern reaches of Loch Lomond, where the Highland Boundary Fault line crosses the loch. The summit is part of the Glen Striddle Horseshoe, a charming outing from the village of Luss.
