The former post office building was erected in 1893 and was initially privately owned. In 1920, the Reichspost (Imperial Post) took over the property. On April 16, 1924, one of Germany's first automatic long-distance telephone systems went into operation here. After modernizations in the entrance area during the GDR era and the later relocation of postal services to the old town, the old post office was closed as a postal service point. Since 2020, the listed building has housed the "Alte Post Nauen" room rental.
