This is where English colonists first set foot on America's shores in 1607. The area has miles of trails, sandy beaches along Chesapeake Bay, bald cypress swamps, maritime forests and lagoons. It's Virginia's most-visited park so expect it to be busy, especially on weekends.

The park is open from 7am until dusk daily. You can rent cabins and yurts and camp.
