At the entrance to the Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park, Saint-Junien is the second largest town in the Haute Vienne department.
On the edge of Vienne, the city, classified as a City of Character, has many assets including an imposing Romanesque collegiate church and a tradition of craftsmanship in glove making and tanning. The Corot site, on the edge of the Glane, is particularly green and pleasant.
