The Longinus Cross is a special form of the Arma Christi cross, found primarily in the Black Forest, but occasionally also in other parts of southern Germany. In addition to the instruments of the Passion, Longinus crosses depict the figure of Longinus riding on horseback alongside the crucified Jesus. The crosses are primarily made of wood and approximately 3–4 meters high. They often have a hipped roof resembling the roofs of Black Forest farms, as well as a back wall on which the Arma Christi figures are mounted.
