The tracks were part of a simple light railway system that made it possible to transport ammunition, weapons, supplies, and even wounded soldiers on wagons. Especially on Monte Piana – where two front lines faced each other almost equally and only a few hundred meters apart – fast, protected transport was vital for survival.

This track was originally about 170 meters long, now the corridor is closed.
